JST Gets Her Ass Filmed Off [With DD]
Hey sports fans...
A mystery Joanne Shaw Taylor gig appeared out of the blue in beautiful, sunny downtown Birmingham central U.K.
It took place on Wed 12th July at The Jamhouse.
Jo and the band played flawlessly to a small but very appreciative audience, partly in collaboration with the podcast/guitar video site Lick Library so they could obtain and archive some footage.
As soon as it's posted I'll obtain and include a link on this blog so check back soon.
It was a low key affair really, if you could ever call that band low key. There was a mixture between the more formal [but still exciting] tunes from her forthcoming album, and some great solo work from both Jo and Dick on the occasional blues/R&B.
The thing I like about Jo is she is authentic. Even the more rigid arrangements are still allowed to breathe, and with both DD and Jamie [Little] well used to the necessary elasticity and spontenaeity from their E Numbers work, the thing soon gets up to it's fissionable temperature and pressure... and the sparks begin to fly!
Watch this space!
